The new 2011 VW Golf was not in need of any major overhaul but did receive some minor refinements. There were no major mechanical changes for the 2011 Golf since it was revamped last year. The 2 engines available (gasoline or diesel) performed very well and were applauded for 2010 so you won't see anything different under the hood. In addition to the trim options you will have 7 different exterior color choices, and enough optional features to build the exact Golf your heart desires. 2.5L 5 Cylinder Engine Base Model starting at $17,995 MSRP The 2.5L naturally aspirated engine puts out 170 hp and comes standard with a 5 speed manual transmission which can be upgraded to the optional 6 speed automatic. Some standard features include 15" steel wheels, iPod input, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control, ABS, 4 airbags, and much more. Available features like Bluetooth, Cold Weather Package, and the Golf Distinction Kit may give you exactly what you're looking for. 2.5L PZEV Model starting at $17,995 MSRP Having the same size dual overhead cam (DOHC) engine as the base model there have been adjustment made to make this a PZEV, or, Partially Zero Emissions Vehicle for states that require more strict emissions, such as California. 2.0L TDI Model starting at $23,225 MSRP There are instant upgrades moving up to the TDI aka Turbo Diesel, but keep in mind that eveery other option from the base model will be coming along for the ride. The TDI is also exclusive to some of the more desirable options and features that can be added like Navigation, Dynaudio Advanced Sound, Golf Chrome Exhaust Tips, and an MP3 Player.
